Architecture, Building and Structure Design Golden Moon Public Event Space by Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design Ltd. (LEAD) The Golden Moon is a temporary architectural structure that explores how Hong Kong’s unique building traditions and craftsmanship can be combined with contemporary design techniques in the creation of a highly expressive and captivating popular public event space. It is the winning entry for the 2012 Lantern Wonderland design competition which was organised for the Mid-Autumn Festival to promote Hong Kong as Asia’s World City. The 6-storey high pavilion was built in only 11 days from steel, bamboo, and stretch fabric and was on display for six days in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park in fall 2012.
