Veloso Residential Compound

Architecture, Building and Structure Design Veloso Residential Compound by Samer Chamoun The design proposal is residential compound in Nacala, a remote city in the northern part of Mozambique. The masterplan layout was carefully designed to allow undisturbed sea view to each unit while preserving complete privacy for their tenants. These parameters contributed to a joyful interplay between the houses creating a non-repetitive distribution of the units on site. The challenge of this project was to be able to design a prefabricated modular housing system that can be easily transported and assembled on site by unskilled labour coming from the site’s adjacent community.
